Day-to-day at ifp consulting
Here you can find reports of employees about their first steps at the ifp - career start, project work and about the life at the ifp.
Markus, Junior Consultant
"After studying Industrial Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim I wanted a diversified and challenging job, combining interesting activities with a convenient work environment. After getting to know ifp consulting and the life as business consultant during my diploma thesis, I have decided to become a consultant afterwards, too.
The main reasons for my decision had been:
- a diversified, challenging work
- projects with different task assignments
- great work climate and helpful colleagues
- earn experiences in different branches
- independent working and fast adoption of responsibility
The introduction had been as expected: after one week to adjust there had already been the kick-off of the first project. It was about the logistics planning in the context of a factory's redesign for a foreign location and an internationally active client. Here I was able to independently apply my knowledge from my studies, but could still get back to my project leader's and colleagues' support at any time.
In my leisure time I go running, like to read and - as long as I am in Munich - I like to play soccer every friday night with my colleagues."
Thomas, Trainee
"Being a student of Industrial Engineering at the University Karlsruhe with focus on logistics and production techniques, the ifp dealing with exactly these issues was the optimal choice for me for an internship in the consultancy branch. After three months now as an intern at the ifp I can clearly say that my first impression that I have got during a guest lecture of the ifp at the ETH in Zurich, has been more than confirmed.
As trainee at the ifp you are included in the project work from the first day on and you can work independently on challenging problems in the field of production and logistics. My first day at the ifp reflects the trust you enjoy and appreciate as intern here: I met my project leader shortly before the departure at Munich airport for the first time and only a few hours later we commonly accomplished process analyses for a client. In the following three months of my internship I could collect a lot of experiences in two projects of very differing branches.
Thanks to the interesting and challenging work at the ifp I could learn a lot each day and I was stoked by the cooperativeness of my colleagues that gladly helped with each question. I would always decide on an internship at the ifp again and can only recommend it to anybody."
