Due to the high planning complexity and the multitude of influence factors at the conception of up-to-date production systems, statements about space requirements, cycle times and capacity utilisation are not accurately realisable anymore. The adoption of the dynamic course simulation qualifies for the display of the complexity and provides detailed information about the equipment capacity utilisation to be expected, potential shortages, required storage and buffer areas within the production as well as expected cycle times considering dynamic parameters.

3D workplace simulation

The efficient layout of workplaces is decisively influenced by the use of 3D systems. Besides the review of ergonomic aspects for the workplace design, the systems support the virtual detection of cycle times and the examination of assembly collisions for the planning of technical plants, but also in the context of manual activities. The cycle times and space requirements at the stations can already be simulated and findings for further optimisations derived, even before the construction of test workplaces or plants.
