A well-grounded optimisation of the material flow does not just mean reduction of transport costs, but also includes an accelerated and trouble-free production flow that results in an increase of the capacity utilisation, shortening of the cycle times and reduction of capital commitment due to low assets. 

ifp consulting therefore adopts the specially developed layout and material flow optimisation system MATFLOW, especially in the context of ideal and real planning.

MATFLOW allows the material flow analysis and design of layouts according to material flow optimised aspects in the context of a factory planning. Depending on the different process courses of the products, the in-house material flows on the layout are analysed with regard to volume and transport frequency. Based on the findings, the machines are optimally arranged system-supported, and appropriate means of transport are chosen in order to minimise the material transport efforts as much as possible.

The detected planning data additionally allow for the cost calculation for logistics and thus support the decision for the most economic layout and material flow concept.
