Die wesentlichen Vorteile des traditionellen und digitalen Shopfloor Managements (SFM) sind im Verständnis der Lean-Philosophie hohe Transparenz durch einfache und verständliche KPIs, klare Zielsetzungen sowie der kontinuierliche Vergleich zwischen Soll und Ist, und daraus abgeleitet die strukturierte Problemlösung und kontinuierliche Verbesserung, um die bestehende Lücke zwischen Soll und Ist schnell und dauerhaft zu schließen. Basis dafür bildet der PDCA-Zyklus (Plan-Do-Check-Act), oder alternativ die Haka-Meetings aus dem japanischen Teil der Lean-Philosophie.
