About ifp

ifp consulting was founded in 1986 as a spin-off of the iwb of the TU Munich by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Joachim Milberg. With the goal to bring ideas from research into practice,ifp has become over the years an established consultancy for production and logistics. Today, ifp is still 100% owned by its three shareholders – Anja Milberg, Prof. Joachim Milberg, Dr. Gerhard Nowak.

Our team

Denise Pohlig

Managing Director

Denise Pohlig is Managing Director at ifp consulting. She has been working for ifp consulting since 2016. She has cross-industry experience in the design and implementation of complex projects in the production and logistics environment. Her customers include clients from the mechanical and plant engineering, pharmaceutical and medical technology, electronics, and transport & logistics sectors.

Denise Pohlig studied industrial engineering at RWTH Aachen University with a focus on production technology.

Dr.-Ing. Gerhard Nowak

Managing Director

Dr. Gerhard Nowak is managing partner of ifp consulting. He looks back on over 25 years of experience in industry and consulting. After his time at ifp consulting from 1996-2000 as a doctoral student and technical consultant, he occupied management positions in industrial companies as well as with leading management consultancies in Europe and China. After working for Management Engineers and Strategy&, Dr. Nowak was most recently a partner at Bain&Company in the Performance Improvement Practice, where he worked for clients in the automotive, mechanical engineering and steel industries, among others. His international career includes many years in Italy and China as well as project experience in EMEA, the Americas and APAC.

Dr. Nowak is a proven expert in the field of production and logistics, as well as product development and cost optimization. This is complemented by his many years of experience in the digital transformation of companies as well as restructuring.

Dr. Nowak studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and earned his doctorate at the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb).

Dr. Josef Ernst

Bereichsleiter

Dr. Josef Ernst is Bereichsleiter at ifp consulting. He advises clients on transformation projects with a focus on footprint design and operational excellence. His clients include internationally active corporations and successful medium-sized companies.

From his previous work, Mr. Ernst brings extensive experience in manufacturing strategy, footprint design and global production in the home appliance and machinery and equipment industries.

Dr. Josef Ernst holds a diploma in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Munich and a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Katharina Anders

Bereichsleiterin

Katharina Anders is Bereichsleiterin at ifp consulting. It advises her customers with comprehensive expertise in factory planning as well as logistics. Her customers include companies from the mechanical and plant engineering, consumer goods and electronics sectors.

Katharina Anders holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from TU Bergakademie Freiberg and a master’s degree in technology and management-oriented business administration from TU Munich.

Felix Frankenbach

Bereichsleiter

Felix Frankenbach is Bereichsleiter at ifp consulting. He has extensive experience in projects in the field of production and logistics planning as well as operational excellence. He advises customers from various industries with a focus on mechanical and plant engineering.

Felix Frankenbach holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering with a focus on production technology from RWTH Aachen University.

Clément Ferry

Bereichsleiter

Clément Ferry is Bereichsleiter at ifp consulting. He advises his clients on transformation in production and logistics. One focus of his work is data analytics. His customers include international groups from the pharmaceutical sector as well as medium-sized companies from the mechanical and plant engineering sector.

Clément Ferry holds a Master’s degree in Production & Automation from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and the Grande Ecole d’Ingenieurs EPF in Paris.
