Digital twin

Efficient production processes with the digital twin.

More efficiency with the digital twin

Digital twins are virtual, dynamic representatives that map a physical object – Digital Twin – or a process – Digital Process Twin – in real time, thus connecting the real world with the virtual world. This networking of digital models and physical assets is possible thanks to the technological development of sensors and network systems.

How can the “Digital Twin” support my company?

As “digital twin” we understand not only 3D images of future factory buildings and production facilities, but also all information and data that exist in digital form. These are already generated in many companies, but can hardly offer any added value.

We can help you harness these insights to optimize production and logistics operations without disrupting the operational process. Thus, risk-free simulations can be performed to ensure that the optimal process is installed.

Application area “Digital twin”

We divide the application areas of digital twins into the four areas Descriptive-, Diagnostic- Predictive- and Prescriptive-Analytics. These areas describe the reporting of past events up to the simulation and optimization of systems that do not yet exist.

Descriptive Analytics

Descriptive analytics describes a static method of analyzing historical data to identify patterns or variances and their implications for the future. The digital twin is the information base, which is processed by data mining and visualized in dashboards.

Diagnostic Analytics

In this step, the information is analyzed and a comparison is made with other data to determine why something happened. The goal is to use data analysis to identify causes and effects, recognize patterns, and analyze consequences. This allows problems to be considered in depth and target-oriented solutions to be generated.

Predictive Analytics

By predictive analytics we mean an extended view based on the results of descriptive and diagnostic analyses. Predictive analytics can be used to identify trends, detect deviations from normal values at an early stage, and predict future trends based on data. Complex algorithms and modern software are used to apply data science, deep learning and machine learning algorithms to create forecasts.

Prescriptive Analytics

Prescriptive analytics look one step further into the future. Here, additional recommendations for action are generated, e.g. how to influence a certain trend in a desired direction, prevent a predicted event or react to a future event. The goal is to understand or be able to predict confusing, complex and economic relationships and to be able to develop and evaluate decision options from them.

Goals

The primary goal is to generate a cost reduction through the use of a “digital twin”. Here, the “digital twin” supports early detection of errors and ensures smooth commissioning of production plants and buildings. Through virtual tests and simulations we create a deep understanding of the processes and procedures of your company, help you to monitor your systems sustainably and to generate a continuous increase in performance through permanent optimization of actual and target situations. Predictive analytics are used to make meaningful predictions about characteristics, performance and operational behavior. Thanks to the Digital Twin, we can do this without affecting your company’s operational processes.
